He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant with 48 years of post-qualification experience, an Insolvency Professional (IBBI), and a holder of a Diploma in Information Systems Audit (ICAI). He is also an ex-banker with experience in credit appraisal and recovery, an authorised officer under SARFAESI, and an Associate Company Secretary.

He has served as faculty for the National Academy of Direct Taxes, the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes & Narcotics, the Commercial Taxes Department and the State Treasury of the Government of Tamil Nadu, Regional Training Institute of C&AG and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
